Azusa Pacific has deployed a wireless network powered by Mist AI in its academic, residential and administrative buildings on its 52-acre campus. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Azusa Pacific University had to quickly transition to online learning and had to quickly equip 217 classrooms in seven campus locations with video conferencing in time for the Fall 2020 semester. However, during their extensive research and testing process, most other solutions required more complex installation and did not meet quality and coverage standards. “With a team of two full-time people, six part-time students and four part-time IT staff, we needed a solution that we could install ourselves without needing CTS certification or formal technical installation training.”
Jonathan Lord, Classroom and Events Technology Manager, and his team needed a solution that would fit into any room and could be used as a USB conferencing device to work with their existing classroom layout. They tested the Stem in a demo video against a dozen other designs, including different ones. After that, each variation was presented to their academics and the committees returned to campus “so they could see not only the different designs and budgets, but they could see the products and experiences to actually sound on the receiving end,” Lord said. . . “It gave our customers, who are our teachers, staff and administrators, the confidence to support the products we were proposing in these proposals.”
