Why go: If you want a typical four-season home away from home with impeccable service, stay here. Most of the Four Seasons Residence Club Aviara villas have a kitchen or kitchenette. Villas offer private bedrooms and living areas that give travelers plenty of space (no upper king rooms) for a (usually) reasonable price for what you get.
This is one of the best hotels in San Diego, CA for extended stays and multi-generational travel, although any length of stay will be enjoyable. Dining at Seasons Restaurant is delicious and changes seasonally – sometimes daily, local farmers’ markets inspire the Chef de Cuisine – so there’s always something new.

Good to know: Park Hyatt Aviara is next door, so guests can enjoy dinner as well. Aviara is an indoor condo/golf community, so it helps with car rentals. This hotel is amazing. Of all the high-end luxury hotels in San Diego, this is the one I had no complaints about. Private parking is included in the accommodation fee.
NOT A SPACIOUS QUARTER It doesn’t feel like a Four Seasons Maui or even one of their city hotels. It’s quiet, luxurious and you can even bring your pets. And it can be a great value.

Why you should go: You want an upscale, luxury boutique hotel close to Torrey Pines Golf Course and Torrey Pines State Nature Preserve. You have to appreciate his California craftsmanship style. The Torrey Pines Hotel boasts ocean views and excellent customer service. I have booked many repeat guests and was reminded of how good it was during my recent stay.
The Hotel at Torrey Pines is frequently cited in national publications as not only one of the best luxury hotels in San Diego, but also one of the best hotels in California.
The spa is excellent, as is its farm-to-table restaurant, A.R. Valentine. They even have complimentary luxury car service to pick up guests within a five-mile radius that includes the beaches and La Jolla Village. I believe the Lodge at Torrey Pines deserves a AAA Five Diamond rating.
Good to know: This La Jolla hotel overlooks the famous Torrey Pines Golf Course. Golfers should stay here as golf services can book tee times at other private golf courses throughout the county. The spa is not big but very good (sometimes I go for a massage). Palisade rooms are my favorite because they have ocean views.
