Eligibility for award consideration is determined by the article’s publication date. That is, the article must be published in the two calendar years preceding the year of the award. Therefore, the articles published in volumes 8 and 9 were reviewed for this round by an ad-hoc subcommittee formed by the Editor-in-Chief of the ISCJ and the ICCE Research Committee. The award will be presented at the 14th ICCE World Coaches Conference in Singapore.

The editor-in-chief is the director. Most editor-in-chief guides the journal and builds a strong management team. They must consider and balance the interests of many constituents, including readers, authors, staff, publishers, and editorial board members. The editor-in-chief is responsible for ensuring an effective, fair and timely review process for manuscripts submitted for publication and for establishing and maintaining high standards of technical and professional quality.

The Editor-in-Chief’s decision to accept or reject a paper for publication should be based on the importance, originality and clarity of the paper, and the relevance of the study to the journal submission. Consideration should be given without regard to the author’s race, religion, ethnic origin, sex, seniority, nationality, professional association, institutional affiliation, or political philosophy.

All original studies must be peer-reviewed before publication, taking full account of biases due to related or conflicting interests. This requires the Editor-in-Chief to ask for advice from Associate Editors or others who are experts in a specific field and submit manuscripts sent for publication to reviewers selected for their expertise and good judgment to assess the quality and reliability of manuscripts. Manuscripts may be rejected without review if deemed inappropriate for the journal.

The Editor-in-Chief and editors will not disclose any information about the manuscript under consideration to anyone other than a person seeking professional advice on the publication of the manuscript. The editor-in-chief should consider submitted manuscripts for publication as soon as possible. Authors should be informed periodically about the status of the review process. In cases where sufficient speed cannot be achieved due to unforeseen circumstances, it is the duty of the Editor-in-Chief to withdraw himself from the process in good time so as not to unduly influence the publication of the author’s work.

The general principle that defines wrongdoing is the intent to make others aware of the wrongdoing. Therefore, research on wrongdoing should not only focus on specific actions or omissions, but also on the purpose of the researcher or author.

The editor-in-chief must be aware of the potential problems of plagiarism, duplication of previously published work, false data, intellectual misuse, submission of duplicate manuscripts, meaning or -matching, or incorrect author lists.
