I made my first trip to the Pacific Northwest at the end of July and I can see why all the fuss is there – access to nature, perfect weather and great views make it a perfect place to visit or live . Chihuly Garden and Glass Exhibition Just a hop, skip and a jump away from the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass is home to indoor and outdoor sculpture. I’m not an art guru, but I enjoy walking around art museums. I like this place and it gives me indoor and outdoor equipment – win! Boeing Seattle is home to the second largest and fourth largest buildings in the world (by operating volume) – both Boeing buildings. You may not have heard of Boeing, but if you fly a lot, you almost certainly have. OG Starbucks I’d like to see how much money I’ve spent at Starbucks in my lifetime… or maybe not. (This is coming from the girl who won the “Most likely to be found at Starbucks” superlative.) I’ve heard that the oldest Starbucks didn’t like it, but I have to say that I did. The rumor was true, the line was several blocks long and it looked like any old Starbucks. But the trip is a must for any Starbucks lover. I took a good look inside, took a photo by the front window, and walked several blocks to an empty Starbucks.Pike store.

Many vendors welcome you to this modern market, with stands ranging from jewelry to seafood. I managed to lose my family in this great place, but it’s a signature Seattle stop. My favorite part of the market is the peaceful retreat from the madhouse on the rooftop garden overlooking the water. Pike Place also has a great variety of shops to explore. The beautiful macaron rolls at Le Panier in Pike Place caught my eye in the morning – so much so that we found our way back in the afternoon to get macarons and sip Orangina. I was pleasantly surprised by the smell of this patisserie. It took me to a place thousands of miles away that was just a few months ago – Le Poussin Bleu, a bakery just 10 minutes from my French apartment last summer. And the quality of their macarons in Seattle is good, better than most, but not really high quality French pastries.
