Studio Apartments Downtown San Francisco – American architecture firm Studio Gang has unveiled new renderings of a 40-story building in San Francisco that will feature references to the city’s “classic windows” that surround its exterior.
Slated to reach a height of 400 feet (122 meters), Studio Gang’s Mira Tower is under construction at 280 Spear Street in the city’s Transbay neighborhood. This area is located away from Rincon Park and a section of the east coast overlooking San Francisco Bay, known as the Embarcadero.

The latest renderings show boxy windows that will gradually rotate in different directions to provide residential views of the city, water and nearby Bay Bridge.

The forms are based on bay windows found throughout San Francisco, according to Studio Gang founder Jeanne Gang.
“Reinterpreting San Francisco’s classic windows, our design maximizes the dynamic value of the neighborhood,” he said in a project statement.
“Extended to this 400-meter-tall tower, bay windows create unique spaces in each living space that provide fresh air, expansive views and changing qualities of light throughout the day.”
Some of the windows will include glazed balconies, while other outdoor spaces will include a patio and roof deck.

Studio Gang designed the tower for architect Tishman Speyer. The complex will include 392 luxury residences, a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, townhouses and penthouses.
Developers released a rendering of the building last week in a bid to attract potential buyers as construction continues, although sales won’t officially open until the fall.
Carl Shannon of Tishman Spier said: “As Mira construction continues, every day we move closer to bringing this new community to the thriving Transbay area.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to improve San Francisco once again by bringing the unique vision of world-class architects to the skyline with a new, vision-changing tower.”

A parking space for 340 cars – including electric vehicle charging stations – bicycle parking and 10,000 square feet (929 square meters) of ground floor retail are among the other amenities.
Close to the waterfront and downtown, the neighborhood is rapidly developing around the recently completed Salesforce Transit Center, which will eventually connect to multiple public transit networks.
