University Of Colorado Denver Masters Programs – For the first time in more than a year, CU Denver’s downtown campus was alive with the energy of hundreds of alumni, decked out in caps and gowns and with proud family members. Under the theme “Crossing the Square,” a unique commencement event took place in the morning for 17 graduates, who each walked across the stage on Tivoli Quad and received their diplomas from Chancellor Michelle Marks.
“It all feels so surreal,” said Michelle Joan Williams McBride, a first-year student who received an EdDin in Educational Leadership and Equity from the School of Education and Human Development. McBride and his parents said they appreciated the timing of the event — it was short and sweet without the lengthy speeches that are traditionally part of graduation ceremonies. “And my parents got to go on stage with me,” McBride added.

After COVID-19 forced the university to hold virtual commencement ceremonies in spring and fall 2020, CU Denver is pleased to announce a new format for commencement in spring 2021. The goal of Cross the Quad was to provide a real, face-to-face opportunity while reducing the number of points of contact for alumni on campus.

“It fills my heart to see our graduates and their loved ones on campus for Cross the Quad,” said Kelly Mason, associate director of University Events Grad.
Class of 2020 graduates are also invited to compete in Cross the Quad. One of them was Daryl Boyd, who received his master’s degree last July. in Arts and Teaching from the School of Education and Human Development. She was delighted to be invited to the momentous event where she walked on stage in cap and gown with her partner and sister. “It feels great to be private after a tough year,” Boyd said.
Other alumni made similar comments. Emotions ran high as students reconnected with fellow students and faculty for the first time on campus in nearly 15 months.

The business school was ranked 100th nationally that year. This makes them the second best public business school in Colorado.

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences’ clinical psychology program is ranked 64th nationally. In this program, students will be trained in a variety of approaches and techniques to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of psychological problems.
Spring 2019 Commencement Was Largest Ever
The 2022 rankings are calculated using a unique scoring system that includes student engagement, potential return on investment, and leading third-party ratings.
Key ranking factors include student engagement, faculty credentials, teaching, student services and technology, peer reputation, and admissions selectivity. The 2020 Best Graduate School Report was published on March 12. CU Denver advanced overall in the 2020 report, with many graduate programs ranked in the top 10 in Colorado and top 100 in the United States.
Consistently highly rated, the School of Public Affairs maintained its No. 1 ranking in Colorado and rose to No. 25 nationally for public relations programs. Duke University, Florida State University, Georgetown University, and the University of Maryland are tied for the 25th place with CU Denver.
The 2020 Best Graduate Schools in the U.S. report has four graduate degree programs in the top 23 or higher. Three majors moved up in rankings from last year, including one major in nonprofit management that was ranked for the first time.
